Twin sisters, Liz and Rachel Newell, inherited the family smallholding in 2015. Having both spent many years living in San Francisco working in design, the chance to escape the grind for a slower pace was a lifesaver.
As single mothers, they juggle parenting with the huge task of managing a seven-acre property. Liz lives permanently at Cliff Acre with her daughter, while Rachel remains in California – raising her daughter and returning several times a year.
Luckily they’ve got the support of a local network of kick-ass individuals, without whom their vision wouldn’t be possible.
Growth and renewal.
The property had been left unmaintained for over 15 years and required considerable effort to make it habitable. The upkeep continues, as does the vision for growth.
